Taxpayers are urged to exercise care when e-Filing their taxes and make payment through the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) online services.
The board was working with Symantec, a security, storage and systems management provider, to educate taxpayers to follow a set of best practices.
Taxpayers are advised to protect financial files on computers and Internet connection with passwords and to avoid clicking on suspicious links.
They have also been advised against preparing their tax returns in public wireless hot spots, to install good Internet security software and not to wait until the last minute to file taxes.
