EPF AND SOCSO FOR PART-TIME WORKERS

Effective today, employers must contribute Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Socso for part time workers as long as they work between 30% and 70% of the number of hours put in by regular staff.

If a regular staff work 8 hour a day, those work between 2.4 hours and 5.6 hours will qualify as part-time employees.

Part-time workers also eligible to enjoy cetain benefit such as annual leave, public holiday, medical leave, off days and overtime claims.
